
About Sitamau literature Festival
The Sitamau Literature Festival, scheduled from January 30 to February 1, 2025, promises to be an extraordinary celebration of culture and creativity. Set in the historic town of Sitamau, Mandsaur district, this festival aims to immerse participants in the rich tapestry of Mandsaur’s history, literature, arts, and natural heritage.
Renowned authors, poets, and artists will converge to share their perspectives, delving into the unique legacy of Mandsaur, from its ancient monuments and Rajput-era architecture to its flourishing artistic traditions. Sessions will include discussions on regional folklore, storytelling workshops, art exhibitions, and guided explorations of the area’s breathtaking natural beauty.
Sitamau is decorated with the NatNagar shodh sansthan one of the biggest library of manuscripts in Asia.
Beyond literature, the festival will shine a spotlight on Sitamau’s heritage, including its opium trade history, gorgeous quinoa fields ,pristine bank of Chambal river,serene landscapes,spotting birds at Fatehpur chilli lake, Logani Lake, and ofcourse the iconic Pashupatinath Temple on the bank of Shivna river, creating a holistic cultural experience.
